June 1, 2010

Things are starting to get back to normal on the river, females are coming off the beds and feeding on anything that gets in their way. I got to spend a few hours yesterday on the river and with all the rain we've had the last few days, you can bet it was colored to say the least but had 25 - 30 with the largest only 17 1/2 and weighing 2.5 lbs. It was a great way to celebrate Memorial Day, by far the most boat traffic on the river I've ever witnessed, but nonetheless a super day.

Topwater action is coming full swing and you better take advantage of it before the grass gets too prevalent. Other baits that are producing are small crankbaits like the Bandit 100 series and jerkbaits, if you can catch the river in shape enough to throw them.

Also check out the new Holston River Tournament Trial that were hosting. The first date is June 5th. Check the website for details.

God Bless and Tight Lines,
