About Grassroots Television

This new series is hosted by J.R. Adkins of Surgoinsville, Tennessee.  J.R. has a vast knowledge of the great outdoors.  He grew up in the coalfields of Southern West Virginia where his father instilled a love of the great outdoors in him at a very early age.  He moved to the rolling hills of the

Holston River Valley in nearby East Tennessee 13 years ago where he continues his love of the great outdoors.  In the off season, he can be found giving seminars all over North America on various hunting and calling techniques.

Even with all the excitement you see on Grassroots TV, our focus is to promote knowledge as well as safe, enjoyable hunting and fishing.  It’s not just the great locations that make each show great.  In each show, we provide knowledgeable advice and insight on the terrain, and useful tips on the equipment J.R. uses.
